It's all Greek to me!
When searching for Greek books it is necessary to use Greek characters. They are Greek books after all. Most computers running Windows XP or later are capable of typing and displaying Greek characters. [Check the Language & Regional settings in the Control Panel]
Greek characters & Greeklish
If your computer, however, for some bizarre reason does not support Greek characters, please use this free service.
You can use the latin alphabet to type Greek words (aka Greeklish), which will be automatically transcribed into Greek. Then you can copy the Greek text and paste it onto Bibliagora's Search facility and... voila! Problem solved.
Book descriptions/summaries only in Greek? Help!
The majority of book descriptions/summaries are only in the Greek language. This is because bibliographical data provided by the National Book Centre comes only in Greek. Translating every book description or summary in English (or any other language) requires resources that simply are not available.
Here, at Bibliagora, we have managed to translate a number of book descriptions/summaries in English in order to make it easier for our customers worldwide.
However, if you require a specific book description/summary or any other Bibliagora page translated into:
- English please click here
- French please click here
- Dutch please click here
- Italian please click here
- Spanish please click here
- German please click here
- Swedish please click here
This is a FREE service provided by Google. Obviously, it cannot be perfect, but it helps.
IMPORTANT: Translated pages are provided for viewing purposes only. Website functions such as "Add to Cart", "View Cart" and Payment/Checkout will be disabled while you are within the translated pages. Therefore, no transactions will go through unless you go back to the original "Greek" version.
